Baseball for Refugees from South Africa

My son, Zayd Vestal, and I had a great time donating baseball equipment to a refugee family from South Africa.    Thank you to the BRHLL (Broad Ripple Haverford Little League) for the items.

Zayd has been playing baseball for eight years and it was great watching him teach the sport to his new friends.

As we starting to throw the ball I heard Armand ask the question, “Are we playing catch yet?”

“Yes. this is catch!” responded Zayd with a smile.

Armand and David are originally from Congo and fled and traveled for  over 6 months to get to South Africa.  They have been living in Capetown, South Africa for the past 6 years and have arrived into America in March 2016.
